Northwest Authors Series: Marianne Monson

Marianne Monson will be joining us for the next event in the Northwest Authors Series on Saturday, March 9th, at 2:00pm.

Marianne Monson is the author of several novels about pioneer women and their early experiences in America.  She teaches Creative Writing and English at Portland Community College.  Her book, Frontier Grit:  The Unlikely True Stories of Daring Pioneer Women was nominated for the 2017 American Library Association Amelia Bloomer Award recognizing books that ”affirm positive roles for girls and women.”

Monson’s latest novel is Women of the Blue and Gray:  True Stories of Mothers, Medics, Soldiers, and Spies of the Civil War.  This book brings to light the incredible stories of women from the Civil War that remain relevant to our nation today.

This is a free event and open to all to attend.
