The past few months have shown the resilience of our Library. Though short staffed, the Library has continued to serve the community without missing a beat.
We have been plagued with health problems, not to mention my own adventures with shoulder surgeries. Kim Catton resigned as Office Manager in April, while Gayle Andrus has stepped down as our treasurer, because both are dealing with health issues. They are missed and we send them our thanks for their good work and our best wishes for their recovery.
The Library has continued to function because of the hard work of our board members who have scheduled desk volunteers, made sure the bills got paid, ordered supplies, covered books, made bank deposits, and took care of all the many tasks necessary to keep things going–not to mention conducting two successful book sales. We owe them a huge debt of gratitude. And a big thank you to Marjorie MacQueen who stepped in until we found a new treasurer.
Our Library is special because it embodies the spirit of volunteerism. It is that spirit that has kept the Library thriving for almost 92 years.
