The Cannon Beach Library is the place to be for Summer Reading fun, prizes, and special events! For our theme, “Level Up at Your Library,” we’re encouraging summer readers to “level up” with events that explore books, games, puzzles, the environment, and new hobbies.
How does it work? Participants of all ages can register for Summer Reading any time at the library or online. Pick up your FREE BOOK, reading log, and drawstring backpack from the library June 14 – August 23. Track daily reading (no rules, just read), earn prizes, and enter monthly raffles for even BIGGER prizes – certificates for pizza, North Coast Pinball, toys, books, and more. Raffles will be held online July 19th and August 23rd. You don’t have to live locally to participate. Keep up with your reading, then ask an adult to email us a picture of your logbook. We’ll mail you the prizes you earn and put your name in for the large raffles. We want YOU to Level Up with us this summer!
Saturday June 14th 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. – Summer Reading Kickoff Party and Game Day! Twister, Board Games, Card Games, Puzzles, and Snacks – All ages are welcome! Register for Summer Reading and receive a FREE BOOK and drawstring backpack.
Saturday June 28th 1 p.m. – Level Up and listen to stories in both English and Spanish. Stay for crafting – decorate and create your own puzzle to take home! All ages are welcome.
Saturday July 19th 1 p.m. – Level Up and learn about ocean creatures of all shapes and sizes. Join staff from the Seaside Aquarium with an on-site animal touch tank and presentation. All ages are welcome.
July is Minecraft Month at the library! Come to the library to read books and magazines. Find all the resources in a Minecraft scavenger hunt and choose a prize.
Saturday August 9th 1 p.m. – Level Up with Musical Story Time. Listen to bilingual stories accompanied by a musician from the North Oregon Coast Symphony. Listen, groove, explore, and stay to make your very own harmonica. Best for ages 0-8, but all ages are always welcome!
Saturday August 23rd 1 p.m. – Author Program: Hiking with Kids. Join Wendy Gorton, author of “50 Hikes with Kids Oregon and Washington” and level up your love of hiking and nature. Free state maps, stickers and make your own mini nature journal. All ages are welcome!

Closed Captioning
Closed captioning provides a transcript for the audio track of a video presentation that is synchronized with the video and audio tracks. Captions are generally visually displayed over the video, which benefits people who are deaf and hard of hearing, and anyone who cannot hear the audio due to noisy environments. Most of our website’s video content includes automated captions. Learn how to turn captioning on and off in YouTube.
Volume Controls
Your computer, tablet, or mobile device has volume control features. Each video and audio service has its own additional volume controls. Try adjusting both your device’s volume controls and your media players’ volume controls to optimize your listening experience.
