Cannon Beach Reads — “The Wind in the Willows”

Cover Illustration by Robert Ingpen

Cannon Beach Reads will be discussing The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame.

From the publisher:  Far from fading with time, Kenneth Grahame’s classic tale of fantasy has attracted a growing audience in each generation. Rat, Mole, Badger and the preposterous Mr Toad, have brought delight to many through the years with their odd adventures on and by the river, and at the imposing residence of Toad Hall.

Kenneth Grahame began writing in 1879 as an escape from the drudgery of his job at the Bank of England.  The Wind in the Willows started as a bedtime story for his son, Alistair, and Grahame later continued the story in letters to his son.  The book was published in 1908 and has never been out of print.

Cannon Beach Reads meets to discuss books every third Wednesday at 7:00pm at the library.  New members are always welcome.
