Author Eileen Garvin will kick off the library’s 2022-23 NW Authors Series on Saturday, September 24th at 2 p.m. both at the library and virtually. She will discuss her national bestseller “The Music of Bees.” Described as uplifting, enchanting, and poignant, this story weaves together the beauty of the Pacific Northwest and the art of beekeeping as three unlikely friends forge new bonds in the shadow of grief. It has been named a Good Morning America Buzz Pick, a Good Housekeeping Book Club Pick, a People Magazine Best New Book, and a Washington Post Best Summer Read.

“The Music of Bees” is Eileen Garvin’s debut novel. She also has a number of published essays and an acclaimed memoir, “How to Be a Sister” (2010). Eileen and her husband live in Hood River, Oregon, and share their home with about sixty thousand honeybees.

This is the first of an amazing lineup of award-winning, critically acclaimed authors that will be joining us for the return of in-person author events at the library. This season is also the launch of hybrid events, specifically tailored to blend live viewing and live streaming.
