Author Jane Kirkpatrick Visits Cannon Beach for Double Author Talk Featuring Her Latest Book Release, Across the Crying Sands

The library’s NW Authors Series and Cannon Beach History Center and Museum will celebrate the launch of Jane Kirkpatrick’s newest historical fiction, Across the Crying Sands with two author talks on Saturday, June 7. Kirkpatrick will speak at 2:00 p.m. at the Cannon Beach History Center & Museum and at 5:30 p.m. at the Cannon Beach Library. Both events are free and open to the public, presented in partnership between the two host organizations.
She will be joined at the museum talk by Wheeler poet Dana Huneke-Stone, whose poetry appears throughout the trilogy. Books will be available for purchase and signing at both locations.
Across the Crying Sands is inspired by the life of Mary Edwards Gerritse, a homesteader who became the Oregon coast’s first female mail carrier in the late 19th century. From grief and loss to courage and adventure, Kirkpatrick tells the story of a bold and resilient woman who found healing and purpose traversing rugged coastline trails and Crying Sands Beach.
Jane Kirkpatrick is a New York Times and CBA bestselling author of more than forty books. Her numerous awards include the WILLA Literary Award, the Carol Award for Historical Fiction, and multiple Will Rogers Gold Medallion Awards.
