What: World of Haystack Rock Library Lecture Series 2020-2021

When: Wednesday December 9th, 2020 at 7:00 p.m.  (These are recurring lectures with different speakers and topics. They are held on the second Wednesday of every month from November to May).

Why: Meg Reed the Coastal Shores Specialist for the Oregon Coastal Management Program. Title: King Tides project – how to participate, look back over the years, and some other updates regarding addressing sea level rise and climate impacts along the Oregon.

Meg Reed is the Coastal Shores Specialist for the Oregon Coastal Management Program. She provides technical assistance to cities, counties, and state agencies regarding land use planning related to coastal shore processes and geologic hazards. Meg also coordinates Oregon’s King Tides Photo Project. Meg’s background is in marine science, natural resource management, and science communication.

Friends of Haystack Rock is a nonprofit organization focused on keeping Haystack Rock healthy and thriving. Our mission is to promote the preservation and protection of the intertidal life and birds that inhabit the Marine Garden and Oregon Islands National Wildlife Refuge at Haystack Rock.
